Topic Submittal

Topics must be submitted in writing (email or paper) to a board member.  These can be emailed or placed in the PTO mailbox in the Teacher’s Lounge.

All topics will be placed on the topics list anonymously.  It is the submitter’s choice if they would like to discuss the topic under their name.

Topics should be submitted in a constructive manner.  No topics will be accepted if they are presented in a manner which is perceived as extremely negative, vindictive or hurtful to others.

Topics should be concerning school enhancement and be issues concerning the larger school population.  Items concerning a small number of students should be brought to the attention of the administration prior to bringing them to the PTO Issues Meetings.

Topic Procedures/Standards

All topics will be considered by the board for discussion at the meetings.

All topics will be reviewed by our Administration prior to the meeting in order to allow for discussion preparation.

Each topic and it’s discussion will be limited to 20 minutes.  Issues may be revisited at the end of the meeting, but no meeting shall run past 9:00 pm.  A separate meeting can be schedule for any issue needing further discussion by the proper number of voting members.

Attendees will be allowed to ask for extra time for a topic if needed.  Extra time will be granted by a majority vote of the attendees.  Extra time will be limited to one extra 20 minute period.

All topics should be discussed without using STUDENT OR STAFF NAMES.

All topics should be discussed in a constructive manner and if at all possible members presenting topics should have considered some viable options for solutions prior to bringing the topic to the meeting floor.

The PTO Board Members in conjunction with Administration reserve the right to end any discussion which becomes non-constructive or combative.
